Alchemy has stepped up to bat and hit another home run with their new Arktos carbon full suspension frame. You may remember their carbon hardtail Oros from NAHBS but now they’re offering a full squish trail monster. The front triangle will be made in house with the rear triangle made overseas. It features 150mm of travel with 27.5″ wheels. The frame will be available for purchase in early 2016 for $3750, which includes a rear shock and two tone paint.
The geometry of a medium frame will have a 66.5 degree headangle, 73.5 degree seat tube angle and 13.6″ bottom bracket height. Chainstays will be at 17.2″. The frame and suspension design were done by Dave Earle who has a long engineering pedigree from Specialized, Santa Cruz, and Yeti. The dual linkage suspension design is called Sine, which is derived from the shock rate. Read the links below for more details on the new creation.

I was disappointed that the rear triangle is made in Taiwan, BUT supporting Alchemy could still be a good start to bringing sustainable carbon fiber expertise back to the U.S.
