This is a pure bred race machine designed for the owner of Groovy Cycleworks‘ daughter. She races in the statewide Ohio Interscholastic League. Last year she raced hard and crashed hard damaging her drivetrain from time to time. For this year he designed a bike for her that would offer much less maintenance and repair issues in the form of single speed bike with Gates’ belt drive.
The frame geometry is fairly aggressive to match the type of terrain in the Ohio racing series. Most of the tracks feature tight technical courses. The bike has a neutral footprint front center with a 72 degree headangle. The fork features a 40mm offset with 15mm thru-axle.
The frame is full titanium throughout. Almost all of the components are also titanium. This includes the handlebar/stem combo, fork, seatpost, and crankset.
The wheels are American made Industry Nine’s from North Carolina fitted with Schwalbe tires. The bike weighs just at 15lbs. It’s topped off with Magura’s new MT6 brakes.
