Wolf Tooth Components 1X Chainrings

During 2013 NAHBS coverage I ran across a new American made chainring company I hadn’t heard of yet, called Wolf Tooth Components. They are out of Minneapolis, Minnesota making chainrings specifically for 1×10 and 1×11 drivetrains.

The chainrings are machined in Minneapolis out of 7075-T651 billet aluminum. The chainrings feature an alternating dual tooth profile that is said to help prevent dropping your chain. They are designed to work with no chain guide using a clutch type derailleur from either Shimano or SRAM.

Wolf Tooth has several products in development and testing.  Chainrings compatible with SRAM XX1 and X9 Type 2 are in testing now. Final products should be available in March or April.

  1. I’m an old geezer (75) who just converted a 21speed to a single speed + Nuvinci hub. Works great except for really steep hills. I’m using a 32 tooth front chainring but badly need a 30 tooth. The chain is SHRAM 7speed. Is there any way I can adapt your 30 tooth to work?
