It may still be cold outside for a lot of us, keeping us off the trail. That doesn’t mean we can’t start planning some great riding trips for Spring and Summer. Lately there have been two articles posted on riding destinations in Colorado and California that look amazing.
Salida Monarch Crest Trail
“Starting on the ridge of the Continental Divide at the 11,312ft Monarch Pass and climbing up from there, the 34-mile point-to-point route consists primarily of singletrack that keeps riders above 11,000ft for approximately 11 miles before gradually dropping to 7,000ft. ” – Bike Radar
Bonus – If you’re into a little bit less organized trail structure and some curious adventure, it sounds like mountain biking around Los Angeles may be up your alley. SingleTracks has an article calling it the Wild Wild West of mountain biking due to the lack of trail signage and whether or not bikes are actually permitted on a lot of trails.
Buddy Tip – Always talk to local bike shops and check online forums dedicated to the riding area when you don’t what trails are good.
